Inner West Apartments

This work-in-progress provides an update to an existing apartment building in Sydney’s inner west, improving and expanding on a plan that needed only minor upgrades to provide a high-quality set of homes.

Minimal demolition informs a fundamentally sustainable approach. Without compromising the original building, the focus has been placed on substantial improvements to the landscape, streetscape, general amenity, and accessibility of each home.

With so many similar apartment blocks across Australian cities and a housing crisis prompting a growing need for density done well, this approach can, and should, be emblematic of a wider approach to sustainable multi-residential housing.
