Meet our new team members

As Carter Williamson continues to grow, our team expands and evolves to maintain the ongoing pursuit of design excellence. Let us introduce you to the people who recently started working across architecture, interiors and marketing at Carter Williamson.

Lillian Xiao
Graduate of Architecture
M. Architecture – University of Sydney
B. Architectural Studies – University of New South Wales

Lillian believes that well designed spaces can improve the lives of those who occupy them. Understanding the social, cultural and environmental factors of a project is intrinsic to her sustainable architectural practice.

Being curious about the built environment around the world, Lillian undertook an exchange in Gothenburg Sweden and an elective to Bandung Indonesia to understand informal settlements. Exploration into different approaches to design led her to work in Shanghai, London and Sydney in small to large practices from large commercial to small and medium residential projects.


Gabriela Fernandes
Graduate of Architecture
Degree of Architecture and Urbanism – Federal University of Bahia, Brazil
Degree of Architecture (Scholarship Exchange Program) – Alcalá de Henares University, Spain

Gabriela is a passionate designer with over seven years of experience in the Australian industry. She graduated from a prestigious university in Brazil, complemented by a scholarship-supported study program at a Spanish university in Europe, which enriched her architectural global perspective.

Throughout her career, Gabriela has worked across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, residential, and hospitality projects. Her true passion lies in residential design. For Gabriela, residential projects are opportunities to connect with clients, understand their lifestyles, and craft environments that enhance their daily lives. Her work is defined by thoughtful design and a commitment to improving how people experience spaces.


Marcus Kalaf
Graduate of Architecture
M. Architecture – University of Sydney
B. Design in Architecture – University of Sydney
Academic Merit Prize, Arthur Baldwinson Memorial Scholarship in Architectural History (2020) - University of Sydney

Marcus recently completed his Masters in Architecture (Distinction) at the University of Sydney and has been working as a Graduate Architect on a variety of projects across high end residential and small scale commercial settings. Awarded the Academic Merit Prize in Architectural History at the University of Sydney, he has a keen appreciation for thoughtful and bespoke Architecture that settles itself within its context.

Marcus believes buildings play an important role in a person's sense of place and community. As a designer he aspires to create buildings that enhance relationships with the natural environment, respond to site and adapt to the intricacies of climate, place and people.


Alba Englen
Graduate of Interiors
B. Design Interior Architecture – UTS

Alba recently graduated from the University of Technology Sydney with a Bachelor of Design in Interior Architecture. She tailors her projects towards contemporary living, fusing light, form and function harmoniously. With an affinity for sophisticated furniture and design, Alba injects personality into the spaces she curates.


Isabella Feek
Marketing and Communications Coordinator
B. Fine Arts (Hons. Distinction) – UNSW Art and Design

Coming from a fine arts background, Isabella has worked across a variety of arts, design and culture publications and outlets. She hosts a show on FBi radio that covers greater Sydney’s arts and creativity and previously worked in digital marketing at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Isabella graduated from the University of New South Wales with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Honours Distinction and is interested in how texture and form can be manipulated across disciplinaries.
